Never too old… to develop skills and confidence. A eye-opening, mind-blowing, car-bonding and confidence boosting day with CAT Training Millbrook. Paul, the magician instructor was incredible at communicating and passing on his extensive knowledge while being patient. Each stage of Road Level 3, Performance Advanced Training on the Millbrook Proving Ground were challenging whilst being safe. The day follows a progressive development which allowed me to learn and apply so much. The entire experience and Paul’s knowledge were well beyond what I had expected. Paul made me feel comfortably safe throughout the day and his good sense of humour coupled with his communication skills enhanced my learning. It was a great opportunity to discover my car as well as developing myself as a driver. Many thanks to Paul, Jo and the team to make it happen.

"Wow, what a day! I took my car - a Jaguar F-Type coupe V6s - to Millbrook to safely explore it’s limits and to see what I was capable of when driving it. I learnt, amongst many other things, that it’s capabilities are huge, and that I will never exploit them fully on public roads. My capabilities grew steadily throughout the day. I got my brilliant instructor Paul to demonstrate what he wanted me to do at each stage and every time thought “mmm I am not sure I can do that”. First time around that proved to be true but with Paul’s patient advice I mastered every skill and did things I never thought I could do. We started by exploring braking and the marvel that is modern ABS systems, moved on to proving that I could drive hands free at 100pmh on the banked circular circuit and push on to 130mph in complete stability with the lightest of steering inputs, learnt to steer around sudden obstacles in perfect safety and how to pick out a racing line by observing the braking points and apexes to achieve speed with the smallest of steering inputs. Man and machine left in perfect harmony with an appreciation of how lucky I am to own such a fantastic car and a feeling that I now have the skills to deserve it. Learning new skills has never been so much fun. Worth every penny and totally COVID secure."

"Safer and quicker We are a couple with long history in various sorts of rallying. We took a Golf R and a classic Mini for a day with CAT at Millbrook with a view to becoming more systematic, competent brisk drivers. The instructor built our confidence in the cars and ourselves as the day went on. I think you could start at any level and advance without anxiety. The instruction is firm and kind. We were taught the physics of the cars' handling and why the techniques we were taught work. They do; we assessed the road better, we upset the car less and achieved more grip. More grip adds to confidence and safer speed. Our plan is to do our next rally and then go back."

"Performance Driver Training - EXCELLENT!! I had just bought (well, contract hired) a 19 plate BMW M2 Competition and wanted to know how to properly use the car and understand its limits. I got googling and discovered CAT Driver Training. The service from start to finish has been excellent. The site is epic and really has to be experienced to be believed. Paul was simply fantastic in his approach to teaching. Very calm, patient and extremely knowledgeable; being able to put a mechanical/physics based explanation to everything that I experienced, or what the car was doing in all situations. Paul took me around the handling track on arrival and scared me at the pace he got the car around the track. I was adamant i wouldn't be able to do that. Well, by the end of the day I was and across 3 laps my splits were within 0.6 seconds! I will most certainly be returning for more training. CAT have spurred on a real love for performance driving and I look forward to bolstering my skill set before going on some track days and who knows, maybe take the steps into getting a race Licence. All round 5*, id give it 10* if I could. Highly recommend. Hats off CAT!! Wills."

"Three months & 3000 miles later... Three months on from the training day I spent with Paul I can honestly say this has changed my driving experience. I took the course as had just purchased a 5.0 V8 Mustang with the intention of taking a European Road Trip. I realised I knew how to drive fast but not how to competently handle a car at this level of performance. The course completely prepared me for every eventuality I encountered during my road trip, which took in 2500 miles and 8 countries; I drove safer and more confidently as a result. Navigating challenges from the winding roads of the Alps to the sheer speed of the AutoBahn. Paul the instructor gave me complete confidence on the day to push my vehicle to the limit of its capabilities in order to fully understand how safely and confidently I could drive. I would recommend this course unreservedly, not only was it a very enjoyable days driving (a friend took his car also) but I learnt so much about the car, myself and the road in general. This is NOT a track day, anyone can sign up for those. This a course for serious drivers of performance vehicles who want to enjoy the performance of their own car but feel at ease in the knowledge they can avoid/get themselves out of trouble. 5 stars awarded without reservation and we are already planning to come back for another course, it's addictive. Thank you to the team! (p.s. nice lunch also)"
