In the case of CAT Driver Training photos of their customers’ cars raised £1026.22! The leading authority on dynamic driving raised the impressive sum for charity Action for Children in a unique social media initiative.

Based at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, the company trains a variety of clientele, including car enthusiasts, sports car owners, racing drivers, engineers and even autonomous safety drivers! Co-Owner Joanna Hoad explains how the fundraising concept was born:

We wanted to engage with our passionate social media community by sharing more pictures of our customers and their beautiful cars. It is important to us to always give back and this created a unique opportunity to raise money for charity in the process. A donation of £5 was made by us into a sealed Terramundi Pot for every client photo taken at the end of their training course.

Many customers liked the idea so much, they generously added their own donations to the pot - a lovely added bonus.
Just before Christmas we smashed the pot and counted the money in a live Facebook video. Our customers were thrilled with the amount raised!

Performance driving enthusiast Georges Van Den Bosch Wazen, one of the pictures featured, was picked at random to select which Charity would receive the impressive amount:

As a customer, I thought that it was really an amazing idea and so easy to put together. I didn't imagine that CAT would collect such an amount by the end of the year. I particularly liked that it was playful while serving a good purpose. I wished more companies would do that.

Regarding the charity, being close to Christmas time I couldn't help but think about children and those less fortunate than us. I believe the service Action for Children provides is essential and it is important to make sure they can deliver their mission the best way they can.

Freya Hollingsworth, regional fundraiser for Action for Children accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity. She stated:

We are thrilled to receive this incredible donation from CAT Driver Training. It was such an original fundraising idea and what a lovely thought to include their clients in helping decide which charity should benefit – a massive thank you to Georges for choosing us!

Action for Children protect and support children and young people and last year we helped more than 387,000 children and families across the UK. Every penny donated by CAT Driver Training and their generous clients will support us in helping vulnerable children have a safe and happy childhood.

After the success of the photo fundraising initiative in 2019 the driver training company hopes to raise even more this year. In anticipation, a bigger pot has been personalised by the popular artisan savings pot company. Julie Buggal from Terramundi Money Pots said:

We are delighted to be a part of such a fantastic cause. A terrific saving last year so we hope for an even bigger saving in one of our big pots for this year. A massive well done to the CAT Driver Training team and good luck to all those taking part (including us)!
