"I went on the Nurburgring training and Grip limit and drifting courses. I had been in contact with Jo and Colin before booking and Colin gave me some great advice regarding the type of training and really understood my requirements for the training. He sculptured the courses to fit my learning and driving style and was constantly referring back to my requirements. Absolutely fantastic training great instructor. I learnt a lot and hope to go back for more. Would fully recommend."
"Short Version: No hesitation in recommending this to anyone, whether you are a complete novice or an experienced driver. Excellent day! New skills developed. Better understanding of my car. Long version: I am a seasoned Track day enthusiast that has completed many miles on various tracks including the Nurburgrin, in a range of cars. Recently changed to a Lotus Elise S1 (vvc) and wanted to ensure I could make the most of the car. Spoke with Jo at CDT about my needs and availability and we came up with a plan to join one of the Club days. This gave me a full day with 5 others to cover various elements of training. The whole day was a fantastic experience from the moment I arrived to until I drove out the gates at Millbrook. The team were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects of the day. Read their web page for details of the club day. Activities included threshold braking, high speed handling, car control, trail braking, cornering, observation and a small fun test at the end. I came away with some new skills to develop further and found some limits of the car and some of my own comfort! At no point did I feel unsafe. Colin and Paul are great at providing clear explanations of what we were about to do and to identify habits (bad and good) that needed attention. For me, the full understanding of how the engineering/physics behind what was happening and how to correct things was invaluable! Obviously this is tailored to suit individuals. I would have no hesitation booking further training with them or recommending to others to go. You WILL learn things!"
"I firmly believe in the value of driver training, it is an investment that you can transfer to any car you drive to make you faster, safer, more competitive if you race and one day may just save your life and because of this belief I have attended sessions with many of the well known instructors both in the UK and overseas, I will not name names (save for one) however I will say it includes; – ex touring car champions – the head of chassis development for a major German manufacturer – formula 1 coaches – and many others (including karting with Tiff Needell). It is in this context that I write this review for Cat Driver Training. Colin Hoad, the lead instructor at CATDT, has the ability to implicitly understand your needs as a driver and combined with his engineering knowledge he can explain the fundamental reasons why you are not as fast as you wish you were! I have witnessed this on several occasions; on test days where the assembled crew of “performance drivers” had been practicing all day in the car to achieve a target time only to have Colin meet or improve our time when challenged to do the same in a single lap with no prior time in the car – this is a rare ability and is testimony to his exemplary understanding of the limits of a car… The team at CATDT are tireless in their commitment to ensure you are satisfied as a customer and demonstrate the professional behaviors you would expect from the best large organisation whilst continuing to deliver a personal service second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone that wishes to improve or hone their driving ability whether trying to get the best from your car, be safer on the road, faster on the track or learn the subtleties of the Nurburgring…"
