In January 2025, CAT Driver Training confirmed the results of its annual Charity Smiles Pot Smash, raising £2,075 to support a range of UK charities, alongside additional fundraising for Mission Motorsport through book sales.

How the CAT Charity Smiles Pot Smash works

CAT Charity Smiles is our annual fundraising initiative, bringing together Road, Race and Track clients to support charities that matter to them. For every participating client, CAT donates £10 into a charity pot, increased from £5 in previous years. Some clients also choose to add their own donations.

At the end of the year, Jo quite literally smashes the pot during a live draw, with one client selected at random to choose where the funds are donated.

This year’s draw took place before Christmas, with Kevin selected to choose the charities. He confirmed his final selections shortly after, allowing us to share the full breakdown and complete the donations.

Charity Smiles 2025 donations

The £2,075 Charity Smiles pot was split five ways, with £415 donated to each of the following charities:

In addition to Charity Smiles, CAT raised £944.46 in 2025 through sales of Colin Hoad’s publications How to Start Racing and Your Track Day Guide. All profits from book sales are donated to Mission Motorsport.

Combined with its £415 share of the Charity Smiles pot, Mission Motorsport will receive a total of £1,359.46 in 2025.

Jo Hoad, CAT Driver Training, said:

“Charity Smiles has always been about giving something back in a way that feels genuine. The Pot Smash is a bit of fun, but the impact behind it is very real. We’re grateful to our clients for getting involved and helping us support causes that matter to them.”

James Cameron, Mission Motorsport added:

“Support like this makes a real difference to the people we work with. CAT’s continued commitment, both through Charity Smiles and book sales, helps us provide meaningful opportunities for those recovering from injury or illness through motorsport.”

Since launching Charity Smiles in 2019, CAT Driver Training has now raised £18,647.64 for charity.

Thank you to all clients who took part, donated to the pot, allowed photography during visits, and supported the initiative through book purchases. Charity Smiles will return later this year.
